Each painting is an original work. Not decoration but a feeling. Something that changes how the room around it sits.

Nature as Source

Where the noise stops

I am Gintare. Since childhood I have felt a strong pull toward wild nature. Not nature as scenery, but as the place where the noise stops and I feel like myself again.

There is a stretch of the Lithuanian coast near Olando Kepurė where a pine forest runs all the way to the sea and drops without warning into steep cliffs above the water. That kind of place has always felt like home.

In the Studio

Each painting arrives with its own music

I paint alone, with headphones in.
,b/r> Each painting arrives with its own music. While I was painting the fish, I listened to Olivia Dean on repeat. The horse came with Rosalía. When a painting is finished, the soundtrack changes too.

Animal Presence

The animal is not just a subject

Painting animals brings me back to the same state I feel in nature. Each one carries something different.

The elephant brings grandeur, a quiet confidence that does not announce itself. The chameleon brings something harder to name. Playfulness, mystery, and a kind of stillness with a charge. It adapts completely to what surrounds it, takes on the colors of the branch beneath it, becomes almost invisible, and yet against a vivid background it stands out completely. That contradiction is what draws me to it most.

Animals have a gaze. They hold a room differently than anything else, almost like a presence, a company. That is what I am trying to bring in.

Atmosphere

What the painting does to a room

A painting changes a room differently than furniture or light. It does not fill a wall. It gives the room a quality.
Some of my works bring stillness and weight. Others bring movement. Some hold the eye long enough that the whole room settles. A painting does not need to be the loudest thing in a room. Usually the quieter ones change the most.
